Guillem Martos Oms Presents at International Conference

At the recent international conference "The Cultural Agency and Limits of Minority Groups in Early Modern Iberia: A Comparative Approach", researcher Guillem Martos Oms presented a paper titled: "Preserving Power: The Emergence and Development of Royal African Archives in the Kingdom of Kongo and the Captaincy of Angola (16th–17th Centuries)."

His presentation explored the role of royal archives as instruments for preserving political power and institutional memory in the African contexts of the Kingdom of Kongo and the Captaincy of Angola during the 16th and 17th centuries. The research highlights African agency in documentary practices and the complexity of local administrative systems in dialogue with the Iberian world.
